Sunday, May 18, 2008 – Annual Archdiocesan Holy Name Union Convention

As mentioned last month, arrangements have been made for the 97th Annual Convention of the Archdiocesan Holy Name Union to be
held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 6400 East Pratt Street, Baltimore 21224.

We are fortunate to have as our Keynote Speaker, Father Joe Breighner, who leads a number of Retreats and gatherings each year.
You may recall, Father Joe was going to be our Homilist and Workshop Speaker at our Convention last spring in Emmittsburg.  You
may also recall that, on the Friday before our Convention, Father Joe came down with Shingles.  He assures me he will not have a
recurrence this year, and is looking forward to our Convention this at Our Lady of Fatima.  Father Joe will also be our Awards Ban-
quet Speaker.

Sunday, November 16, 2008 – Annual Memorial Mass, the Basilica, 10:45 AM

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2008 – ANNUAL MEMORIAL MASS AT THE BASILICA AT 10:45 AM

ARCHBISHOP O”BRIEN HAS BEEN INVITED TO ATTEND OUR ANNUAL MEMORIAL MASS

FREE PARKING ON SUNDAYS FOR THE MASSES AT THE BASILICA

Our Spiritual Director, Father Michael Carrion and Deacon Henry Siarkowski have again arranged for our Annual Memorial Mass to be
held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Baltimore.  Two years ago, the Holy
Name was the first organization to conduct an event at the newly renovated Basilica, when we conduct our Annual Memorial Mass.
We continue this tradition again this year, by conducting our Third Annual Memorial Mass.

Each Holy Name Society should bring their Banner for the procession into the Basilica, and the floor stand to place the Banner on the
Altar.  In addition, a Member from each Society should be prepared to recite names of deceased members to be remembered at this
Mass.

Parking is free on Sundays for the Masses at the Basilica.
